Lost Vape Centaurus mods compared, version by version
A Lost Vape Centaurus mod is often chosen for its finish, a translucent panel, a stabilised wood insert, a limited edition colourway. Yet Lost Vape has put the Centaurus name on very different mods, in steel, aluminium or polycarbonate, with one cell or two, with or without an app. The one you keep for five years and the one you sell on after six months can share a name, and nothing on the shop shelf tells them apart.
Which Lost Vape Centaurus mod to keep for years
To last, a Lost Vape Centaurus mod needs removable cells, a sturdy chassis and a chipset with a known track record. The M200 ticks the most boxes, with its aluminium alloy and steel frame, swappable panels and mechanical on and off switch. The DNA 250C remains the only version in our table with an Evolv chip, updated over USB and covered by the six month warranty Lost Vape keeps for its DNA products.
The M100 and N100 cover single-cell use, and the N100 takes a 21700. The BT200 is set up from a phone, the M120 is aimed at mouth to lung vaping, and the N200 and P200 swap aluminium for polycarbonate.
Every Lost Vape Centaurus mod, version by version
The figures come from the product pages on Lost Vape’s official site. We keep the screw-on atomiser mods and leave aside the all-in-ones and pods sold under the same name, such as the G80 or the PM100.

| M120 and M120 S | Not stated | 1 × 21700 or 18650 (M120), built-in 5500 mAh (M120 S) | 5 to 120 W | Aluminium alloy, plastic, steel | Power, Turbo and MTL modes, 1.47 inch screen |
The M120 S is the only one here with a built-in battery, which also makes it the only one whose lifespan rests on a cell you cannot replace yourself.
Aluminium, zinc or steel, what the chassis means for longevity
Lost Vape quotes 152 g, give or take 5 g, for the M200 and its 26 mm aluminium alloy frame, which it describes as tough enough for rebuildable atomisers. The N200 comes down to 108 g and the P200 to 106 g, give or take 5 g, with a polycarbonate shell and zinc alloy.
The DNA 250C plays a different tune, with 173 g of stainless steel, leather-clad sides and carbon fibre, abalone shell or stabilised wood inserts depending on the series. The general criteria, from the 510 connector to the battery door and the charging port, are covered in our guide to choosing a box mod that lasts.
Panels, switch and dial, the parts to look after
On a Centaurus, wear does not come from the chipset alone. It settles in the parts you handle most, and Lost Vape has made several of them replaceable or protected.
Panels you can swap
The M200 takes swappable panels on both faces, and Lost Vape mentions a plain panel edition intended for laser engraving in shops. The N200 and N100 carry a replaceable translucent matte panel, the P200 double-sided panels tough enough for engraving. A scratched panel gets replaced, the mod stays.
A real on and off switch
The M200 has a mechanical switch that cuts the power, with a quoted one second start-up. Lost Vape presents it as a way to avoid sleep mode and accidental firing in luggage. The M100, N200 and N100 have one too.
Dials and recessed buttons
The M200 and M100 group their settings on a 3-in-1 dial, the N100 on a 4-in-1 dial. The P200 sets its power with a manual dial marked in five levels, I to V, between 5 and 200 W, and its recessed buttons limit accidental presses. A dial is one more moving part, worth trying in the hand before you buy.
DNA or Quest, warranty and firmware on a Lost Vape Centaurus mod
The DNA 250C runs Evolv’s chip from 1 to 200 W, with temperature control from 200 to 600 °F. Lost Vape lists nickel, titanium, SS316, Kanthal A1, Ni80 and Ni90 among supported wires, and its USB port handles both charging and firmware updates.
Warranty follows the chip. Lost Vape offers six months on DNA products and three months on Quest products, and quotes a five working day turnaround for UK repairs through its European service. Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 remain with the retailer.
Cells and tanks, the habits that keep a Centaurus going
Lost Vape’s FAQ recommends high-drain cells rated above 25 A, and pairs that always stay together. Take the most demanding case, a nearly flat cell at 3.2 V and 90% efficiency. A 25 A cell then handles 25 × 3.2 × 0.9 = 72 W on a single-cell mod.
At 100 W on an M100 or N100, the current reaches 100 ÷ 2.88 = 34.7 A. On a twin-cell mod set to 200 W, each cell supplies 100 W, so the same 34.7 A. Molicel rates its P28A 18650 at 35 A and its P42A 21700 at 45 A. On the twin 18650 Centaurus mods, full power on P28A cells leaves only 0.3 A in hand, and it is the wattage setting that has to come down to win some back.
At 100 W the P42A keeps more than 10 A in hand, which within this list only the N100 and M120 allow, since they take a 21700. At the M120’s 120 W the sum climbs to 120 ÷ 2.88 = 41.7 A, still under the P42A’s 45 A but with a much thinner margin.
The tank matters too. Lost Vape gives two diameters for its Centaurus Sub Ohm Tank V2 depending on the version, 30.0 mm and 26.8 mm. On the 26.9 mm deep BT200, the 30.0 mm version overhangs by 1.55 mm per side, a marked overhang in the Fumoir checker’s terms, while the 26.8 mm version sits flush. UK kits come with the 2 ml version of the tank, the legal cap for refillable tanks, so check which diameter you actually get.
FAQ
Five practical questions once the Centaurus is in your hand.
Is there a Centaurus for mouth to lung vaping?
The M120 is built for that draw. Lost Vape pairs it with the Centaurus Nano MTL Tank and its 0.8 Ω and 1.2 Ω UB MTL coils, and gives it an MTL mode whose wattage range depends on the coil fitted.
Does the Centaurus N100 take an 18650 cell?
Yes. Lost Vape specifies a single cell in 21700 or 18650 size. The 21700 holds more energy, while the 18650 lets you reuse cells already in rotation.
What should I do when the mod reports overheating?
Lost Vape advises switching the mod off, removing the cells and letting it rest for 30 minutes. The message appears after a long session, when the mod or the atomiser gets too hot.
What is the ten second protection for?
It cuts firing when the button stays pressed for more than ten seconds. Lost Vape lists it on the N200, P200 and BT200, as a guard against a button jammed in a pocket or bag.
Where can a Centaurus be repaired from the UK?
Lost Vape runs a European repair service reached by email, with a quoted turnaround of five working days for the UK. The retailer remains your first contact for statutory rights.
Keeping a Lost Vape Centaurus mod for years
A Lost Vape Centaurus mod lasts when it combines removable cells, a chassis that copes with knocks and handling, and parts you can replace, starting with the panels. The M200 remains the benchmark for that balance, the DNA 250C the version for fans of the Evolv chip.
Then choose your cells from the cell maker’s datasheet and your tank from the width of the mod. A well looked after Lost Vape Centaurus mod ages like something you maintain, not like a gadget you replace.
