Lost Vape Thelema Solo, what its spec sheet says about its real limits

On shop listings, the Lost Vape Thelema Solo boils down to three lines, 100 W, a 21700 cell and a Quest 2.0 chip. Those lines describe what the mod can do at best. They leave out what holds it back, even though the maker prints those limits on its own sheet. A capped voltage, a bounded current, a 28.5 mm edge under the atomiser and a near namesake sibling still decide how the mod will actually get used.

Keeping the Lost Vape Thelema Solo, the answer in two conditions

Two conditions make the Lost Vape Thelema Solo a mod worth keeping for years. The first is its removable cell, which you replace once it wears out, and that puts it among the mods built to last. The second is its output voltage, capped at 8 V, which only leaves the full 100 W available on a coil of 0.64 Ω or lower.

With a low-resistance tank for direct lung vaping, it lives up to its sheet. From 1 Ω upwards the available power drops quickly, down to 64 W at 1 Ω. Atomisers from 26 to 28 mm sit on it without any overhang.

The Lost Vape Thelema Solo spec sheet, line by line

The figures below come from the Lost Vape Thelema Solo sheet on the maker’s official site. The firing modes, which the maker does not list, were cross-checked against several matching retailer listings.

The Thelema Solo’s 100 W, and the coils that can actually reach it

Two lines of that table, voltage and current, set the power the mod really sends to the coil. Two simple formulas do the job, and they change how the 100 W figure reads.

The 8 V ceiling and higher-resistance coils

Power equals voltage squared divided by resistance. With 8 V at most, 100 W is only reachable below 8² ÷ 100, which is 0.64 Ω. Above that, the voltage cannot keep up and the real power falls. A sub-ohm tank coil at 0.5 Ω or below keeps the full 100 W within reach.

Coil resistanceReal maximum power
0.15 to 0.64 Ω100 W
0.8 Ω80 W
1 Ω64 W
1.5 Ω42.7 W
2 Ω32 W
5 Ω12.8 W

At 1.2 Ω, a common value for mouth-to-lung coils, the ceiling still sits at 53.3 W. The limit mostly bites on 0.8 to 1 Ω rebuildable builds that someone wants to push hard.

The 35 A ceiling and low-resistance coils

Output current equals the square root of power divided by resistance. At 0.15 Ω, the lowest the mod accepts, 100 W needs the square root of 100 ÷ 0.15, which is 25.8 A, under the stated ceiling. The sheet does not say whether its 35 A applies to the output or to the cell.

The cell side gives a different number under the harshest assumption. With a nearly flat cell at 3.2 V and 90% efficiency, 100 W draws 100 ÷ (3.2 × 0.9), or 34.7 A, right at the 35 A mark. At 70 W the same sum only asks for 24.3 A, and at 100 W on a full cell at 4.2 V it falls to 26.5 A.

On a Lost Vape Thelema Solo set close to 100 W, the choice of cell follows from that sum. The 21700 format and its continuous discharge rating are covered in our feature on moving to a 21700 mod, worth reading before you load the Thelema Solo.

Overhang, which atomisers suit a 28.5 mm top

The atomiser sits on the top face, whose narrow side measures 28.5 mm. That side decides whether the whole set-up reads as one piece. Retailers quote either 26 mm or 28 mm as the maximum diameter, and the maker gives no figure.

Atomiser diameterGap per sideFumoir overhang checker verdict
22 mm3.25 mm insetClearly inset
24 mm2.25 mm insetClearly inset
26 mm1.25 mm insetSlightly inset
28 mm0.25 mm insetFlush
30 mm0.75 mm overhangSlight overhang

A 26 mm atomiser therefore leaves a small shoulder on each side. To check any other tank, measure it at its widest point and enter that figure in the overhang checker, with 28.5 mm as the mod width. The brand’s other mods and tanks are reviewed in our comparison of the Lost Vape Centaurus mods.

Thelema Solo or Thelema Solo 100 Pro, two mods not to mix up

Lost Vape also sells a Thelema Solo 100 Pro, with an almost identical name. It is a separate mod from the Lost Vape Thelema Solo, with different electronics.

The Solo 100 Pro sheet lists the Quest X 3.0 chip, a 1.47 inch TFT screen and a coil range of 0.1 to 3 Ω. Its listed modes stop at Watt, Boost, Voltage and temperature control with SS316, titanium and nickel, with no Bypass and no VPC curves. It charges over USB-C at 5 V and 2 A, and its frame takes the Thelema Solo’s covers. The kit pairs it with the Centaurus Sub Ohm V2, 26.8 mm wide in its 2 ml version, in line with the 2 ml cap on refillable tanks sold in the UK. On the original Solo’s 28.5 mm edge, that tank would sit 0.85 mm inset per side.

When reading a second-hand listing, the chip name settles it. Quest 2.0 and a 0.96 inch screen mean the original Thelema Solo, Quest X 3.0 and the larger screen mean the Pro.

Battery door, venting and power drop, the published reservations

The review Vaping Post published in March 2022 raised three reservations about the mod. Its magnetic battery door had some sideways play, the shell had no venting holes, and the power fell above 70 W as the cell ran down. That last point matches the current sum worked out above.

A buyer describes the same door play in a question posted under a retailer listing. It is easy to check in a shop, door closed, by gently squeezing the sides. The lack of venting is also a reason to look after your cells, with intact wraps and supervised charging. The other parts that wear on a mod, connector, charging port and buttons, are covered in what a box mod is, and the parts that make it last.

FAQ

Five questions that keep coming up under Thelema Solo listings and that the sections above leave aside.

What do the Soft, Norm and Hard settings do?

They are three preheat curves for wattage mode. They set how hard the coil is pushed at the start of each press of the fire button. One retailer recommends Norm for tanks and keeps Hard for rebuildable atomisers, whose coils heat up more slowly.

Does the Thelema Solo take a 20700 cell?

Yes, according to several matching retailers, on top of the 21700 and the 18650 with the supplied adapter. The maker only names the 21700 and the 18650. A 20700 should therefore be chosen on its continuous discharge rating, like any cell for a mod.

What does Bypass mode do?

It sends the cell voltage straight to the coil, with no regulation. The power delivered then falls as the cell drains. The mode suits anyone after a feel close to a mech mod while keeping a regulated device.

Can you charge the cell inside the mod?

Yes, through the USB-C port at 5 V. An external charger is still the better option, to keep an eye on each cell and spare the mod’s charging port, which is a wear part.

Which wires work in temperature control?

Nickel, titanium and two stainless steels, SS316 and SS904, over the 100 to 315 °C range shown in the table. Kanthal also appears in the list of accepted wires, but it belongs in wattage mode, as its resistance barely changes with heat.

Lost Vape Thelema Solo, a mod to choose knowing its ceilings

The Lost Vape Thelema Solo ticks the box that matters most for longevity, a cell you can replace. Its limits are printed on its own sheet. The full 100 W only goes to coils of 0.64 Ω or lower, the cell has to deliver close to 35 A at 100 W when nearly flat, and the 28.5 mm top takes 26 to 28 mm atomisers without overhang.

A Lost Vape Thelema Solo used within those limits, on a suitable cell, stays a mod worth keeping. Reading voltage and current ceilings this way works for any regulated mod, whatever the brand.
